Tuncay Ergene, Ph.D., presently a professor in the Counseling and Guidance Program at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. He completed his undergraduate training in counseling at Hacettepe University in 1986 and has since obtained master’s and doctoral degrees at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, USA respectively. He has additionally completed post-doctoral studies in the International Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Research and Training Program at Harvard University. His research interests include counselor education and supervision, counseling theories and techniques, policies and procedures in counseling, school counseling, career counseling and guidance and trauma and disaster counseling and administrative process and managerial development. He worked as advisor for the UNICEF and program coordinator for Mental Health Policy design for Turkey. He presented at UNESCO. Dr. Ergene is the past president of Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association. He currently serves on the Editorial Boards of three journals, Journal of Counseling and Development, Journal of Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Counseling and Psychotherapy Research.
