Biography

Since 2003 professor of Italian language and literature at the Faculty of Letters of Ankara

University, since 2008 Head of Department of Italian Studies at the Faculty of Letters of Ankara University and between 2012-2015 Director of the School of Foreign Languages of the same university.

Her main fields of interest are Italian language and literature; diplomatic relations between the

Italian States and the Ottoman Empire; travel writing regarding the Ottoman Empire; ecocritisism.

She collaborates with various Italian universities, such as Università per Stranieri di Perugia;

Università per Stranieri di Siena; La Sapienza (Rome): Ca’ Foscari (Venice).

She translated poems of D’Annunzio, Montale, Quasimodo and Pasolini and novels of De Amicis, Primo Levi and Marco Lodoli.
